"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."

~Samuel Adams (Revolutionary War leader, Massachuesettes governor: 1722-1803)

Did You Know?

More than 10 billion farmed animals are slaughtered in the U.S. annually.

On the first evening of the Shrine Circus at the Spokane Arena in April, Advocates and others were out to protest the treatment of the animals who are taken from the wild and forced to perform unnatural stunts.

March 30, 2008 Jackilyn Kemmish, our newest activist, speaks out about the suffering of animals in the circus at the Holistic Festival at Mirabeau Point park. Jackilyn is doing an outstanding job as an activist due to her concern and passion for animals in circuses, particularly elephants.

Jackilyn educates people about the use of the bullhook, a sharp weapon used by trainers to inflict pain and injury on elephants.

This year about 20 members of Treating Animals Like Kin (T.A.L.K.), Animal Advocates of the Inland Northwest, and EWU Animal Rights Club met in front of Nordstroms at River Park Square to spread the message of kindness to our fellow beings.
